Rob Kristyak and Felix Score Initial Wins of 2009

Rob Kristyak (Modifieds) and Rob Felix (Limited Sprints) captured their inaugural wins of the 2009 racing season as Warehouse Sales presented “Bail Out” Fan Appreciation Night. In addition Jeff Johnson (E-Mods), Bruce Redman (Pro-Stocks) and Marty Warren (Hobby Stocks) returned to victory lane at Sharon Speedway.

The 21-car Modified feature was paced by heat winners Jeremy Paup and Rob Kristyak. A spin by Greg Younkin that collected Erik Martin and Ron Eperthener negated the initial start. The second start found Kristyak charging to the front with Rex King, Sr. close behind. Kristyak, King and defending points champion Dave Murdick quickly separated themselves from the rest of the field.

A caution on lap 19 gave King and Murdick one final opportunity to challenge Kristyak for the top spot. King managed to pass Kristyak on lap 23 but Kristyak quickly regained the top spot when the two crossed the start-finish line. The two Bristolville residents battled for the final two circuits with Kristyak defeating King to capture his first feature event of the season.

“The rain earlier today really complimented our setup. The Dave’s Towing/HRE/Troyer was extremely fast tonight. I also need to thank my parents, my crew and especially my wife Carrie for their assistance. This is my first victory since we were married in May so this win is for here,” stated a very happy Krisryak.

Fellow Bristolville resident King, Sr. held on for the runner-up spot with Murdick, Jim Weller, Jr. and Jim Rasey, who started in the 21st spot rounding out the top five.
